Elbow Arthroscopy

Elbow Arthroscopy

Elbow arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgery used to diagnose and treat different elbow problems. It usually allows for a quicker recovery and less pain after surgery compared to traditional open procedures.

During the procedure, a small camera called an arthroscope is inserted through tiny cuts around the elbow. This lets the surgeon see the inside of the joint, including the bones, cartilage, and ligaments, on a monitor. Using this clear view, the surgeon can treat conditions such as tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, loose fragments in the joint, and certain fractures. Special instruments are used to repair damaged tissue, remove loose pieces, and relieve pain and stiffness.

Elbow arthroscopy usually results in smaller scars, a lower risk of infection, and a faster return to daily activities than traditional surgery. Like any surgery, there are some risks, which should be discussed with your doctor. Overall, elbow arthroscopy is an effective, less invasive option that can help relieve pain, improve function, and support a quicker recovery.
